Salman Khan’s two-wheeler act
Salman Khan loves his biryani, but he has a way of working out those calories.
And quite a unique way at that. Every now and then, he hops on his cycle and pedals it to wherever he is shooting, with his car and driver in close pursuit. In this case, he cycled for quite a distance — to Karjat, to shoot his part in the song Bang Bang from Hello. The song was shot for over 10 days in Karjat and has the famous Salman shirt drop sequence in it. So don’t be surprised if you’re travelling one day and see bhai furiously pedalling his way to work!
197 dead in temple stampede in Jodhpur
The worshippers had gathered at the Chamunda Devi Temple situated on a hill top in the precincts of Mehrangarh Fort when the tragedy struck at around 5.30 am after some devotees slipped on a slope causing the stampede. The injured are being treated in various hospitals, Rajasthan's Principal Secretary (Home) S N Thanvi said. "As some devotees slipped on the slope on the temple path, others gathered there started falling on each other causing the stampede. A majority of those killed died due to suffocation as a result of the stampede," he said in Jaipur.
168 bodies have been identified so far.Director General of Police (DGP), Rajasthan, K S Bains, said that nearly 100 people were injured in the incident. According to reports, there is shortage of oxygen in hospitals.Officials said most of the dead were men as the stampede took place in the separate queue for males for going to the temple.
The dead include a large number of young people, officials said. Rajasthan Home Minister Gulab Chand Kataria said, “Sufficient police deployment had been ensured and there were separate queues for men and women. But there was a huge rush in the queue for men and some people slipped on a slope which led to the stampede.”
The civil authorities have sought the help of the Army to deal with the situation, Inspector General of Police (Law and Order) Kanhaiya Lal said.
Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje has ordered an inquiry into the Chamunda Devi temple stampede and announced a compensation of Rs two lakh each for the next of the kin of those killed. Raje, who visited the spot in the precincts of Mehrangarh fort, said the probe will be carried out by an officer in the rank of additional chief secretary.
She said Rs 50,000 will be paid to the injured. Congress leader and former Rajasthan chief minister, Ashok Gehlot, who also went to the stampede site, demanded a judicial inquiry into the incident.
Officials said that the stampede occurred as the devotees along the 2-km-long route to the temple tried to rush towards its door as soon as it opened. The situation went out of control as devotees, carrying offerings, jostled with each other and tried to rush towards the temple door breaking the barricades.
Inspector General of Police, Jodhpur, Rajiv Dasod said some of the devotees slipped on the 75-metre-long slope on the temple path causing the stampede in the 100-metre zone around it.
"There has been no casualty in the queue for women in which a large number of children were also present," he added.
A few eyewitness to the incident told police that a side wall of the temple had also collapsed due to pressure from the large number of devotees.
Chamunda Devi Temple is the "Kul Devi" of the former Maharajah of Jodhpur, Gaj Singh, and is run by a private trust.
Salman hates romancing Katrina!
Cutting the long story short... Salman-Katrina love story is something that the entire world knows about but what we didn’t know before was the actor’s awkwardness over romancing his real life girlfriend onscreen!
“I know who I like in my real life. The world doesn’t have to see me expressing my love for someone on screen! I am not very comfortable enacting intimate scenes onscreen for this very reason”, said Salman recently when asked about him not doing enough romantic films starring Katrina Kaif!
Salman-Katrina will be seen together in Ghai’s forthcoming film Yuvraaj as a couple but that too won’t revolve much about their love story! Prior to Yuvraaj the couple was seen in ‘ Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya’ but there too Sushmita Sen played the real romantic lead opposite Salman. In Partner too Salman romanced Lara while Govinda walked away with Katrina!
Sallu now that we know the reason, we’d say it’s very gentlemanly of you to admit your discomfort! Hopefully now the silly rumours about Sallu being not comfortable with Kat-Akki friendship will bite the dust and rest in peace!
Saif messes with a journalist
The incident took place when some photo journalists tried to click photographs of Saif at the railway station where the shooting of the film Three Idiots was on. The two photo journalists--one belonging to a newspaper and the other to local TV news channel--were trying to take shots of the shooting of the movie when Saif objected to this. The actor lodged a complaint against them with the railway police station of Patiala. Several media persons assembled on the Mall Road on Sunday night and demanded action against Saif.
Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, who is town for for a function, sent his political colleagues Prem Singh Chandumajra of Shiromani Akali Dal and Raj Khurana of BJP to pacify the journalists. The journalists later withdrew their protest. Both the journalists have lodged a complaint against Saif and his security guards for manhandling them.
"Railway police registered a case against Saif under Sections 506 (threatening to kill), 341 (assaulting), 536 (cause of damage) of IPC," said IG, GRP, G S Grewal.
According to the sources, Saif and other two involved in the case are likely to be arrested by Grewal.
Sachin Tendulkar's dream house
Sachin has submitted the plan to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and it will take a month before it's approved. A civic official said, “The bungalow will have 10 rooms. The area of each floor ranges between 1,710 sq ft and 2,060 sq ft. The ground floor will have three rooms plus parking facilities, the first floor will have two large guest rooms, the master bedroom and the children's rooms will be on the second and third floors while the fourth floor will boast a swimming pool.”
The official said Tendulkar had already obtained clearance from the coastal regulation zone (CRZ) II authorities. He has been granted a Floor Space Index (FSI) of one for the plot, which means that he can build a house with an area equal to that of the plot, which is 836 sq metres or 8,998 sq ft.
At present, there is an old bungalow, Dorab Villa, on the plot. The bungalow was built in the 1920s and was originally occupied by a Parsi family – the Wardens. It is a ground-plus-onestorey structure measuring around 9,000 sq ft but the entire property is spread over around 10,000 sq ft.
According to a neighbour, the bungalow has housed quite a few Bollywood personalities – Sahir Ludhianvi, Majrooh Sultanpuri, Sunil Dutt, Sanjay Dutt, Priya Dutt, Naushad Ali, Dilip Kumar, Rajesh Khanna and Rekha – have stayed here off and on.
Once he shifts into his bungalow, Tendulkar will have actor Naseeruddin Shah for his neighbour. He could also have Aishwarya and Abhishek Bachchan for neighbours if the couple decides to build a house on a plot they have purchased not far from Dorab Villa. At present, Tendulkar lives in a 3BHK at La Mer Apartments in Bandra (West), Mumbai.
Tendulkar great but expect no concession from us, says Ponting
Ponting and his teammates had no doubt whatsoever that it is just a matter of time before Tendulkar, with 11,877 Test runs under his belt, overtakes Lara, who quit the game with 11,953 runs against his name.
Those 77 runs, however, would not be easy to come by, vowed Ponting.
"Hopefully not (in this series)," Ponting said in reply to a query on Tendulkar reaching the milestone.
"I don't have too many great memories of him, for he tends to score heavily against us," quipped the cheeky Australian.
"But I have the highest regard for him. Sachin is a true champion, one of the all-time greats of the game and reaching this milestone would be a great reward for him," Ponting said.
"But we are here to win and know pretty well that we have to get rid of him early if we are to win here. We have come here with a few plans for him and hope our plans would click," Ponting, here for the warm-up match against the Yuvraj Singh-led Board President's XI, told reporters.
Ponting would rely most on spearhead Brett Lee to silence Tendulkar in the four-match Test series and the speedster said he is up to the challenge.
"He is a world class player who has proved himself over more than a decade. You talk about (Don) Bradman, you talk about Lara, Sachin and probably Ricky...It's an honour to bowl to Sachin and getting his wicket is the ultimate prize," Lee said.
"We have done our homework and have devised some plans and I hope we can execute those," added Lee.
Fellow pacer Mitchell Johnson said he has his fingers crossed but was eager to have a go at Tendulkar.
"I don't want to make any prediction but I can say that it is going to be a great challenge and it will be hard for both," said the nippy left-arm pacer.
Batting duo of Phil Jacques and Simon Katich, however, shied away from discussing Tendulkar's imminent milestone and said the team needed to think more about its own preparation for a demanding series.
"At the moment we are focusing on our preparation and when the series starts, I'm sure we'll talk about the opposition," Jacques said.
Katich echoed more or less the same view and said Australia needed to ensure that all its players have got their game in perfect shape before thinking about opposition.
"Lot of preparation is on at the moment to get our own game in order. Once we are happy with the way we are processing, then I'm sure we will plan for the Indians," he said.
Ronaldo and his sms dump
Nereida, 24, says the $80 million star was an impressive lover and she was devastated when she got his text. "He is very good in bed. That's why I was with him," she said. "We had sex the first night we met."
Speaking about their romance for the first time, she said, "I was upset by the way he finished the relationship, which to me seems 100 per cent cowardly. He is very immature." Nereida blames Ronaldo's mum Dolores for the break-up.

Katrina's Zara Zara avatar!
Actress Katrina Kaif seems to be getting bolder with each film. After her glamourous look in her Welcome, Katrina Kaif will be seen in a sensuous avatar in the song Zara Zara Touch Me inRace.
The promos are just out and Katrina's sizzling makeover has everybody raving. The actress's new look is designed by Anaitha Shroff.
Says Katrina "Anaitha Shroff has designed a special look for the entire film. She has done an excellent job. The look in the songZara Zara Touch Me is completely different from what I have done earlier."
Katrina justifies the requirement of certain element of boldness to the song.
"The song is very situation based that defines my character in the film. The character wants to win Saif's affection and the song is picturised keeping that in mind," adds Katrina.
"The song had to be on the edge because the character is on the edge to get Saif's attention."
Katrina Kaif plays the character of a secretary who has a crush on Saif.
Says Katrina "It was a pleasure shooting with Saif Ali Khan for the song. Even the outfit for the song was specially purchased from Dubai from a high end designer Jenny Packham, who is very popular abroad."
The actress is completely in love with her outfit in the song as well as make-up.
"The dress is a beautiful flowery blue, with a very 60's look which perfectly suited the song. Whilst Anaitha Shroff worked on the overall styling of the character, Meher Kohla did my make up. In fact whenever she has done my make-up, my songs have been hits. I jokingly tell her that she is my lucky charm and hope that even this new song becomes a hit."
I'm not married to Kareena: Saif
Speaking to a television channel, Saif denied marrying Kareena and said that at this point of time both of them were more interested in concentrating on their careers than tying the nuptial knot and that such news was disturbing him and his family.
"The news (about his marriage to Kareena) is completely untrue. We are not married, engaged or living together. I am not sure where the news is coming from but it is upsetting me and my family," he said.
Stories of Saif's marriage to the star have been doing the rounds for a last few days.
Besides, a newspaper in Mumbai also put out a story that both secretly tied the knot, away from the prying eyes of the media.
However, Saif, when asked about their marriage plans, said, "that is a private thing. At this point of time there is no time to think of it."
Four dead in explosion as terror returns to Delhi
"Two youths on a motorcycle left a container in a black polythene bag outside an electronic shop and sped off. It began smoking and soon after there was a huge explosion," said Pritam, an eyewitness.
The blast went off around 2.15 pm when crowds were milling around the area, in the popular flower market in Mehrauli. Initial reports indicated that it was a low-intensity blast, police said.
Police, the fire brigade and ambulances rushed to the spot and the injured were taken to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences and Safdarjang Hospital.
The area was cordoned off and most shopkeepers downed their shutters as panic prevailed.
The impact of the blast was quite huge as glass panes of many shops were shattered and blood pooled in front of a few shops.
"We received a call at around 2.15 p.m. about an explosion in Mehrauli in south Delhi. At that time we had reports of six people being seriously injured," said Ajay Kashyap, joint commissioner (southern range).
"My bother, Sanjay, was injured in the blast. There was a deafening explosion and people began to run for their lives fearing more blasts," said Bambam Kumar, who helped his brother into an ambulance.
Exactly two weeks back 24 people were killed and over 100 injured in serial blasts in various parts of the Indian capital. The earlier series of five blasts had all taken place in crowded markets and office areas.
Bowling maidens over!
Now, here’s your chance to see six of India’s cricketers try and bowl us over with their dance moves, score points week after week and catch the finale prize — the winner of the funkiest reality dance show yet, Ek Khiladi, Ek Hasina, which is on air on Colors.
Khiladis S Sreesanth, Harbhajan Singh, Dinesh Karthik, Irfan Pathan, Vinod Kambli and Nikhil Chopra will dance their way to your hearts along with their partners, their Hasinas — Surveen Chawla, Mona Singh, Gauhar Khan, Ashima Bhalla, Shama Sikander and Barkha Bisht. What’s more, the six pairs will be judged by none other than the khiladiyon ke khiladi — bowling legend Wasim Akram, and the hot hasina Sushmita Sen!
On the sets of the show, there is non-stop energy flowing, as the six pairs practice hard to get their moves right. While Ashima believes her partner Irfan’s strength lies in his “hundred per cent dedication”, Shama admits she was surprised with her partner, Vinod Kambli’s dancing skills. “We are known as the energetic jodi, the real entertainers,” laughs Shama. Vinod, on his part, reveals he has a personal reason to take part in the show.
“You’ll know that once you watch the show,” he keeps us in suspense. Nikhil Chopra tells us that though he’s having “great fun” dancing, he would think twice before participating in another reality show. “Since I know the other contestants, it’s more masti-mazaa than competition,” smiles Nikhil. His partner, Barkha, is all praises for the cricketers.
“I admire their guts to do something so different.” But it’s a two-way process. For the gals are getting their tuitions on cricket too. “I didn’t know who I would be paired with. But when I saw Bhajji I said, ‘Ok, I know him! Yahoo, Singh is King!’” Mona Singh laughs. Likewise, Bhajji (whose favourite step, not surprisingly, is the bhangda!) found ‘Jassi’ familiar.
Gauhar Khan tells us that Dinesh has taken the contest very seriously and has given it his 100 per cent. “In fact, all the boys have approached the contest with the same dedication they approach their team practice,” says Gauhar. Dinesh, on the other hand, simply said the experience was “good fun.”
And what do the judges have to say about this unique dance show? “It’s wonderful to see our cricketers doing such a different kind of thing. It’s also interesting to see the chemistry between the couples,” says Sushmita, her excitement at judging such a show evident as she speaks.
While Sush is familiar with the jhatkas and matkas of Bollywood, this is a completely new experience for Wasim. But he’s enjoying it just as much, in fact, you’ll even get to see him dance in the special semi-final episode! “It’s a very different show, lots of fun.
And the icing on the cake is getting to sit next to Sushmita!” laughs Wasim. And what about him taking to the stage for a special performance, was that as easy as taking wickets? “I’ve been a part of two World Cup finals and even then my heart didn’t beat as fast as it did when I was on that stage!”
How much u know abt cricket…?

Dilip Kumar admitted to hospital in New Delhi

Kumar would be shortly shifted out of the ICU, the sources said, adding that he was being treated for the infection.
Rampal’s middle finger snipped
Director Saurav Kabra while shooting a promotional video for EMI accidentally shot Arjun Rampal giving the middle finger to the camera. While the first cut of the song featured this scene, at a later stage they decided that perhaps such behaviour may not go down too well with the Censor Board.
Strangely, it was a choreographic slip on Rampal’s part that led to this inconvenience. The song was meant to feature the actor using his fingers to count the number sequence 1-2-3 backward. “The dance step was in rhythm with this three-two-one theme, and each finger was being successively reduced. Accidentally Rampal did this. It isn’t something we realized while shooting,” said Kabra. Well perhaps Rampal should have had the good sense to do it the other way around?
“After the scene was shot, we immediately realised this, and thought of the repercussions this would might. So we immediately removed the shot.” EMI features Sanjay Dutt as Sattar Bhai, someone who is a recovery agent. The film revolves around people who take loans and can’t pay back their – you guessed it – EMI. Sounds familiar? Do plan your finances guys, or else a Sattar Bhai equivalent might be at your door, showing you his middle finger. And no Censor Board will be around to chop that off!
The Dev Anand I know
As usual Dev saab makes his entry into his office at the dot of 2pm, everyday. Traveling from his residence in Juhu to his office in Bandra, the octogenarian quickly sorts out his agenda for the day with his faithful lieutenant of several decades, Anand. Not surprisingly, Anand talks like his boss, using the same pauses and expressions that won Dev Anand millions of fans in the mid 20th century.
Eying a beautiful antique table clock amidst all that clutter, I picked it up for a closer scrutiny. From over my shoulder, Dev Saab’s voice drifted, “I got this as a gift from a fan in Czechoslovakia. I then went and shot my film there. This clock has been used in the film.” I asked for it as a memento and Dev saab added, “I do not give away anything that has been gifted to me. Apart from my furniture and furnishings, my entire office is a collection of gifts given by some fan or the other. And they help me to make my movies. Where do you think the money comes for making my films? Do you know I receive bouquets daily. They add colour to my surroundings. ”
Talking of colour, I remember meeting him in Panchgani for lunch. He always stays at this particular colonial style hotel which has beautiful cottages facing the hills of Mahabaleshwar. And trimming the grounds were some bright red flowers. Co-incidentally I was wearing a red cardigan to ward off the afternoon chill alongwith Dev saab, whose favouirite colour is red.
As we walked along the garden path, Dev saab stopped to take in the vista. “The palette of colours in Panchgani revive and rejuvenate me. Just see the bright splashes of red against the brown hills, amidst all the greenery around me. I had come here to shoot a song sequence with a leading heroine of my time. Since I was more engrossed with the beauty around me, I failed to compliment the beauty romancing with me. The actress, lets not get into what is her name, was very disappointed in me. And people think that I am a truly romantic hero. I wish people knew me...”, revealed the evergreen actor.
There are so many incidents that reveal the various facets of Dev Anand.. Today on his 85th birthday, we stick to his love for films and colour, because that is truly the essence of a man, who is vibrant.

India Gate is silhouetted
Angelina threatens to leave Pitt
Jolie, who recently spent most of her time away from Brad in their south France chateau, had been upset with him for not spending time with her and the kids.
But, Brad managed to pull the brakes just in time, convincing Jolie to stay back.
“She told Brad if he didn’t come home it would be over,” the Sun quoted a source as saying.
“She threatened to leave and check into a hotel, but Brad persuaded her out of it, ” the source added.
The celebrity couple, who has 6 children after having Knox and Vivienne in July, have however insisted that there were no cracks in their relationship.
Preity can cook
The actress will next be seen in Heroes, where she plays the atypical gaon ki chhori, so much so that when PZ was required to make some chapattis on a traditional clay stove, unit members wondered what and how the chapattis would look like.
Everyone was shocked when Preity managed it beautifully. "They were perfectly round, and tasted good," said director Sameer Karnik, who discovered only then that Preity can cook! Time for an innings in the kitchen next, PZ?
Imraan refuses Yashraj?
If sources are to be believed the actor has just turned down a subject offered to him by the Yashraj banner with the reason that he did not like the script. Imraan was approached by Aditya Chopra a few months before the release of his debut film Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Naa with three story ideas. Imraan approved one of them which was then sent to the writers to be further scripted.
However just few weeks back a narration was given to him but the actor did not quite like it.
Imraan Khan who is eagerly awaiting the release of his second film when asked if Yashraj approached him with the project, said `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are not confirmed.''
When quizzed further if the project that was offered to him was not liked by him and apparently has said no to the film, Imraan said, `` I don't think it is right to talk about projects that are either in development or a project that did not happen. As it stands today I have no commitments after Delhi belly.''
So the big question is, has Imraan refused the Yashraj banner? Watch this space for more on this...
Saif and Kareena married?
On speaking about the rumours of Saif and Kareena’s marriage, Aamir said, “Kareena and I were in Ladakh but Saif did not turn up. Even I heard that he would be coming. Then we completed the shooting and Kareena left. Where and when Saif and Kareena met after that, I don’t know. If they got married also, I am not aware about it.”
It is believed that Saif was with his lady love and surprised her on her birthday last Sunday. He especially flew to Srinagar to celebrate the special day with Bebo.
The two reportedly became close while shooting for Tashan , when the reports of them being a couple started pouring. However, they made their relationship public for the first time at Manish Malhotra's grand finale show at the Lakme Fashion Week Spring-Summer '07.
And the speculation continues...
Rakhi’s the Queen C
The squad will be present at every match of the second season of the league that begins at Hyderabad on October 10. Rakhi has already begun to talk about it. “Cheerleading is not just tamasha (mindless drama). It is a sport by itself. Until now, it was the exclusive domain of the international cheerleading troupes. But, thanks to ICL, this country will now have an indigenous cheerleaders’ squad,” she said.
The ICL Zeebra squad comprises eight other cheerleaders – Ritika, Preeti, Jessica, Geeta, Richa, Sharvari, Jayshree and Sangeeta. They will perform across all the match venues – Gurgaon, Panchkula, Hyderabad and Ahmedabad. Sawant has personally auditioned and hand-picked the squad members and their performances will be designed by a Mumbai-based choreographer. “I can’t wait to don my Zeebra outfit and break into a jig every time Rohan (Gavaskar) or Raviraj (Patil) hit a six. I’m sure, this will be one cheerleading squad that the country will remember for a long time,” Rakhi added.
Flyover named after Mohan Chand Sharma
Delhi Police have also offered Sharma's wife a job in the department.
“Ex-gratia payment of Rs.1.5 million would be given to the family apart from other monetary benefits,” said Delhi Police spokesman Rajan Bhagat.
Police officials say that more security would be provided to the family after assessing threat perception to them.
Sharma's family would receive Rs.300,000 each from Delhi Police Welfare scheme and under the central scheme for victims of terrorists/militants, Rs.267,000 as death-cum- retirement gratuity equal to his last one-year salary. And Rs.200,000 from UTI scheme for holding salary account.
Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) too declared a sum of Rs.500,000 for the family apart from naming a city flyover after him.
“The MCD will present Rs.500,000 as a token of respect to the family of Inspector Sharma,” said Delhi Mayor Aarti Mehra.
The under-construction Pankha Road-Dabri crossing flyover (in west Delhi) will also be named after him so that coming generations would get inspirations from his brave act,” Mehra told reporters.
Sharma, 44, suffered three bullets when he went to capture five suspected terrorists hiding in south Delhi's Batla House Sep 19. He later succumbed to the injuries in a hospital. Old parents, two children and wife survive him.
He had joined Delhi Police as a sub-inspector in 1989 and soon proved himself to be a cop with a nose to the ground. Sharma was given an out-of-turn promotion and made inspector in 1995. He was awarded the president's medal seven times.
Earlier, the Delhi government had announced Rs.1 million, and the Uttarakhand and Madhya Pradesh governments have announced Rs.500,000 each. Two private sector companies have also given a sum of Rs.1.1 million.
The police say many more companies are coming forward to provide monetary support to the family.

Preity is Salman’s Sikhni!
An insider revealed, "Preity Zinta is bound to bag not only accolades but loads of awards for her performance in Heroes as this is by far her career's best performance!"
Revealing more about the film, he added, "Preity plays Salman’s widow in Heroes who happens to be the sole bread winner of the family! She single-handedly strives to bring up her kids and earn a livelihood for them. She makes the protagonists in the film ponder over the thought of being a true hero! She defines heroism in the film and though there is Salman, Sunny and many others, her character is the most important and an author backed one."
"Preity drives tractors in the film and does almost everything that is not expected out of a woman normally", added the unit hand.
Salman, Sunny have apparently played lovely cameos in the film.
We got in touch with Preity to know more about her role but not willing to divulge much details she told us, " Heroes is a film which is very close to my heart...Dino, Sunny, Salman, Vatsal, Amrita... all of us have put in hard work and I am sure people will like it. I have done a role which I have never attempted before but I would want you to see the film first, I won't reveal any more details."
Going by Preity's fantastic selection of roles, we are sure Heroes will add another feather to her multifaceted hat.
Salman's artistic calling
He loves listening to music and he also gets inspired by his favourite piece. According to his favourite music director Sajid of Sajid-Wajid "Salman bhai loves the track Manaata from his latest film,Heroes. The song is picturised on Salman and Preity Zinta in the beautiful locales of Chandigarh. He listens to this tune at least 25 times while he paints. We had a ball recording this tune and we believe that this tune will grow on listeners in the coming days."
We also hope that this song grows on Salman's fans as much as it did for him...

Brangelina set up TB, HIV/AIDS clinic
The clinic shall be named after their eldest daughter, Zahara, 3, adopted from Ethiopia.
Like the Cambodian Health Committee's Maddox Chivan Children's Center in Cambodia, the Jolie-Pitt Foundation backed centre shall provide medical education and social services to the children.
"Our goal is to transfer the success we have had in Cambodia to Ethiopia where people are needlessly dying of tuberculosis, a curable disease, and HIV/AIDS, a treatable disease," People quoted Jolie, as saying in a statement.
The centre in Ethiopia would also concentrate on tuberculosis, a disease that accounts for nearly 2 million deaths in a year, and is the principal source of death in children and AIDS in adults, globally.
Pitt added: "The fact that poor people continue to die in our world today of TB, a curable disease, because of lack of access to drugs and care is unacceptable.”
The Jolie-Pitt Foundation was established in September 2006, when the duo had supported the Global Action for Children organization and Doctors Without Borders by donating 1 million dollars to each.
